Dental Hygiene

Our dentists and dental hygienists work with you to reduce the amount of harmful bacteria present in your mouth. These harmful bacteria can attack your teeth and cause gum disease, cavities and bad breath but we can help you to defend your mouth and enjoy healthy teeth and gums.

Periodontal Maintenance

In order to avoid periodontal disease, a regular trip to the dentist helps to maintain healthy teeth. Your dentist will remove plaque and tartar during a deep clean and will identify any problems in the early stages and will rectify them where possible. Prevention is better than cure and keeping a regular dental maintenance program will ensure the prevention of periodontal disease.

Fillings

If you have developed a cavity in your tooth, then we can offer you a filling to repair the hole after removing the damaged part of the tooth. We offer a variety of different fillings, your dentist will help you choose the best solution for you.

Sealants

Even the most diligent brushing does not always fully protect your teeth from the intrusion of debris and bacteria into the chewing surfaces of your teeth. In order to fully protect the tops of your teeth from the risk of decay, a plastic sealant can be applied. Following a deep clean of your tooth surface, your dentist will apply a sealant to thoroughly coat the surface of your tooth in order to protect it. Sealant treatments last anywhere between 5 and 10 years and can then be reapplied. This is a very worthwhile treatment to keep your teeth free from harmful bacteria.

Children

It is crucial to look after both baby teeth and newly erupted teeth. Ivory smiles offer regular, preventative checks to ensure that your child's teeth are growing properly and are clean and healthy. We offer orthodontics (braces) if necessary and are always on hand to address any issues or concerns.

Root Canal

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected, that cannot be saved by other procedures. During a root canal, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected, and the tooth may need an extraction. A root canal can be performed under local anesthetic. Our main concern at ivory smiles, is to relieve your pain.

Extractions

While we do everything possible to save a damaged tooth, at times extraction is the only option in order to maintain good oral health. Here at Ivory Smiles, extraction is the last resort, but we will remove a tooth if you are experiencing pain that cannot be resolved in any other way.

Crowns

If you have a damaged, cracked or weakened tooth, then Ivory Smiles can offer you a solution in the form of a crown. We match crowns precisely to the colour and shape of your own tooth, giving a completely natural finish. While your permanent crown is being created, we will supply you with a temporary crown. A crown is non removable as opposed to a partial removable denture.

Bridges

If you have lost a tooth due to disease, injury or extraction then you may be uncomfortable with the appearance of a gap in your teeth. Not only can a bridge help to improve the aesthetic look of your smile, but it can also be crucial in reducing movement of your other teeth. A bridge is a permanent prosthetic fixture which is cemented onto your existing teeth to literally ‘bridge' the gap between two healthy teeth as a replacement for a lost tooth. A dental bridge will restore your confidence and ensure ongoing good dental health.

Inlays/Onlays

Inlays and onlays are similar to regular fillings but offer slightly different benefits. An inlay is usually used to fix the surface of a back molar or to repair a large cavity if a standard filling would not be sufficient. An onlay is a little bigger than an inlay and is used to repair cavities which appear right in the middle of a chewing surface or on a tooth cusp. Inlays, onlays and fillings give you the confidence to enjoy your food without the fear of further damage to your teeth.

Implants

Losing a tooth can also mean losing confidence in your appearance. Sometimes, loss of a tooth is unavoidable due to an accident, disease or extraction. We are able to secure a replacement crown, bridge or denture by implanting a little titanium screw. This replacement will not only boost your confidence, but it will also support the other teeth in your mouth to ensure that they remain in place. This technique results in a secure and natural looking replacement tooth.

Invisalign®
